Nearly 20 former Michigan State baseball players are currently playing in professional baseball leagues, with several making significant contributions to their teams. Among those in Triple-A, Brandon Hughes, drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 2017, is now with the Reno Aces under the Arizona Diamondbacks' affiliation. He was called up to the Diamondbacks on April 30 and has made two starts against the Dodgers.
