Two members of Michigan State's men's tennis team will participate in the Milwaukee Tennis Classic from Friday to Sunday, September 27-29. Senior Josh Portnoy and freshman Mitchell Sheldon will compete in singles and doubles matches during the event.

While some teammates are still competing in the ITA All-Americans in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Portnoy and Sheldon will represent Michigan State in Wisconsin. This tournament marks an important milestone for both players: Sheldon aims for a strong start to his first season, while Portnoy looks to make his final year memorable.

The tournament format includes a draw of 32 for men's singles play and a draw of 16 for doubles. Matches begin on Friday morning with the first round of singles main draw, doubles main draw, and consolation single round.

Quarterfinals and semifinals for both singles and doubles will take place on Saturday. The finals are scheduled for Sunday, where the Spartans hope to secure a trophy and kick off their fall season positively.

Following this tournament, the team will return home to prepare for the M15 Ann Arbor tournament from September 30 to October 3.
