EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State faced a challenging game against Rutgers on Saturday evening at Spartan Stadium, ending in a 41-14 loss during their Senior Day event. The game was played under cold conditions with temperatures dropping from 26 degrees at kickoff to the low-20s and wind chills in the teens.

Kay'ron Lynch-Adams, a graduate running back for Michigan State, carried the ball nine times for 69 yards. Senior running back Nathan Carter contributed with seven carries for 47 yards and one touchdown. Sophomore quarterback Aidan Chiles completed 13 of his 23 passes for a total of 150 yards, including one touchdown pass to junior tight end Jack Velling, who had six receptions totaling 77 yards.

On defense, graduate defensive back Angelo Grose led with ten tackles, including four unassisted. Graduate linebacker Cal Haladay added six tackles while senior linebacker Jordan Turner and junior defensive lineman Anthony Jones each recorded five tackles.

The scoring began with Michigan State's opening drive covering 75 yards on five consecutive runs, ending with a 26-yard touchdown by Carter. Rutgers responded quickly after two penalties against MSU placed them at midfield; Kyle Monangai finished their drive with a 7-yard touchdown run.

A mishandled snap by MSU set Rutgers up at the Spartans' two-yard line, but they were held to a field goal by Jai Patel. Michigan State's next opportunity ended without points after being stopped on fourth-and-1 inside the red zone.

Rutgers extended their lead following an eight-play drive culminating in Antwan Raymond's rushing touchdown. Two additional field goals before halftime gave Rutgers a comfortable lead of 23-7.

In the third quarter, Athan Kaliakmanis connected with Ian Strong for another Rutgers touchdown. Patel's fourth field goal early in the fourth quarter made it 34-7 before Velling caught Chiles' pass for Michigan State's final score of the game.

Raymond secured another rushing touchdown for Rutgers near the game's end to conclude the scoring at Spartan Stadium.
