State Representative Graham Filler is urging the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) to reconsider a permitting change that could affect the operation of anaerobic digesters in the state. Anaerobic digesters play a vital role in keeping organic waste out of landfills by converting it into biogas, which can be used to generate heat, electricity, and natural gas.
