The 1963-64 Michigan State Hockey Team, under the leadership of Head Coach Amo Bessone, concluded their season with an overall record of 8 wins, 17 losses, and 1 tie. In the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA), they recorded a conference result of 1 win, 12 losses, and 1 tie, placing them seventh.

Throughout the season, the team had notable victories against St. Lawrence on November 28 with a score of 5-1 and against Ohio University on December 13 and December 14 with scores of 6-4 and 7-1 respectively. Another significant win was achieved against Ohio State on January 16 with a decisive score of 10-2.

However, the team faced challenges as well, including multiple losses to Minnesota in late January and early February. The Spartans also struggled against Michigan Tech in late February, suffering defeats with scores of 3-7 and 1-11.

Despite these setbacks, the team managed to secure a victory over Minnesota-Duluth on February 8 with a score of 4-2. The season ended with two consecutive losses to Michigan on March 6 and March 7.

The roster included players such as Captain Carl Lackey and others like Malcolm Orme, Anthony Elliot, Nicholus Musat, Harry Wolf, James Jacobson, Gary Goble in the front row; Matthew Mulcahy, Dick Harper, Michael Coppo among others in the middle row; and Karl Lehman along with Alex Terpay and others in the back row.

Head Coach Amo Bessone led this group through a challenging season filled with both triumphs and difficulties.
