The Michigan State hockey team from the 1960-61 season, led by Head Coach Amo Bessone, concluded their campaign with an overall record of 11 wins and 16 losses. Within the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA), they achieved a record of 5 wins and 15 losses, placing them sixth in the standings.

Throughout the season, the team experienced various outcomes against different opponents. Notable victories included defeating St. Lawrence with a score of 8-5 on November 24th and securing two significant wins against Ohio University in January, including a commanding 12-0 victory on January 6th. The team also faced challenging defeats such as back-to-back losses to Denver in December.
