The Michigan State University hockey team of the 1950-51 season, led by Head Coach Harold Paulsen, concluded their campaign with an overall record of six wins, eleven losses, and no ties. The team showcased varying performances throughout the season, starting strong against Ontario Agricultural College with decisive victories of 9-5 and 12-3 in early December.

However, the team's fortunes shifted in January when they faced North Dakota and suffered two consecutive defeats with scores of 4-5 and 3-7. A goalless draw followed against MSU Freshmen in an exhibition match. The Spartans managed to secure another win against Ontario Agricultural College with a score of 3-1 on January 12.

The rest of the season saw mixed results for the Spartans. They faced heavy losses against Minnesota on January 26 and 27, with scores of 3-9 and 2-6 respectively. February brought some relief as they won against Michigan Tech twice (4-3 and 3-2), though they were also defeated by Minnesota again with scores of 3-7 and 1-7.

Their final games included a victory over Michigan Tech on February 16 but concluded with losses to Michigan (1-10) on February 21, Denver (2-7) on both February 27 and February 28, and finally another loss to Michigan (6-9) on March 3.

The players who contributed to this challenging season included Walt Dsutschlander, Gus Carlson, Bill Finneran, Bob Revou, Dick Lord, Jim Doyle, Bill McCormick, Neil Bristol, Bill Blair, George Bolton, Conrad Buck, Ray Brooks, Bill Calvert, Joe Suares, Bob Gorman, and Charles Roche.
