MSU Rowing is preparing for the Women's Sprints on Sunday, May 5, at Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Massachusetts. This marks the fifth race of the season for the Spartans under first-year head coach Stacey Rippetoe. The team will compete in morning heats with opportunities to advance to grand and petite finals later in the day.

In this historic event, only the top two finishers from each of the three morning heats will proceed to the grand final in the afternoon. Others will move on to either a petite or third final. The third varsity four field features a single final race in the afternoon. There are no events for fourth varsity eight or second novice eight at these Sprints.

Recently, MSU faced off against No. 16 Indiana where several Spartan boats narrowly missed victory, including a photo-finish that saw MSU secure second place by just seven-tenths of a second.

Changes in seating have been made, with senior Maya Elbaranes returning and junior Sabrina Gottschalk moving back into first V8+. Coxswains Ellise Flessland and Sophia Stauffer have switched boats while sophomore Madisen Holtz has moved up from V4+ to 2V8+.

The preliminaries session schedule begins at 8:20 a.m., with finals commencing at 1:05 p.m., concluding by 3:55 p.m.
