Michigan State University's women's golf team is set to welcome two new players to its roster for the 2025-26 season. Head coach Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll announced the signing of Sarisa "Memee" Pojanalai from Thailand and Lucia Valderrama from Spain.
Pojanalai, who will join the Spartans in fall 2025, hails from Bangkok and attends the American School of Bangkok. She is a member of the Thailand National Team and has achieved notable results, including a fifth-place finish at the Bangchak Champions Cup, runner-up positions at both the 2024 TGA-SINGHA-KRUNGTHAI Junior Golf Ranking and the 2024 TKG STCC International.
Slobodnik-Stoll expressed her enthusiasm about Pojanalai joining the team: "Memee is a very talented and wonderful young woman. We are looking forward to her wearing the Green & White next fall. She is a part of the Thailand National Team, which gives her great experience competitively and training wise."
Valderrama comes from Valencia, Spain, where she attends Blume Elite School. As a member of the Spanish National Team, she was runner-up at the 2024 Copa de la Communidad Valenciana (Valencian Cup), placed 12th at the 2023 European Young Masters, and was runner-up at the 2023 Spanish National Championships U16.
Regarding Valderrama's addition to the team, Slobodnik-Stoll stated: "We're very excited to have Lucia as part of our program and continue our Spanish connection. She will join fellow Spaniard Paula Balanzategui. Both young women compete with the Spanish National Team, which has had great success over the years. Lucia will be a welcome addition as she will help us continue our tradition of excellence that we have had for more than 25 years."
