Michigan State women's golf team starts spring season in Puerto Rico

Michigan State's women's golf team is set to commence its spring season at the Purdue Puerto Rico Classic. The tournament will take place at the Grand Reserve Golf Club in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. The event will run for three days, starting on Sunday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start and concluding on Tuesday.

The Michigan State team will begin their rounds from the 4th hole and will be competing alongside teams from Purdue, Auburn, and Ole Miss. This competition includes a highly competitive field of 18 teams, with 12 ranked among the top-50 in the NCAA Rankings. Michigan State enters the tournament ranked No. 22.

The lineup for Michigan State features Brooke Biermann, Taylor Kehoe, Katie Lu, Ana Sofia Murcia, Catalina Monroy, and individual player Paula Balanzategui. Brooke Biermann leads the team with a notable performance record from Fall 2024, boasting a scoring average of 71.17 over 12 rounds.

Michigan State had a successful Fall campaign, finishing as runners-up in two events and securing top-five finishes three times. Senior players such as Brooke Biermann and Katie Lu have shown strong performances, contributing significantly to the team's success.
