Michigan State defeats Oakland as Booker scores career-high

Sophomore forward Xavier Booker achieved a career-high 18 points, contributing significantly to Michigan State's victory over Oakland with a final score of 77-58 at Little Caesars Arena. This game marked the Spartans' ninth win of the season.

Junior forward Jaxon Kohler recorded his fourth double-double of the season, scoring 14 points and securing 10 rebounds. Senior guard Jaden Akins also added to the scoreboard with 16 points and two rebounds. Additionally, senior center Szymon Zapala made an impact with five points, eight rebounds, and a personal best of six blocked shots.

The Spartans managed to extend their lead after a close first half that ended at 31-30 in favor of Michigan State. They outscored Oakland by 46-28 in the second half, securing their victory.

Following this win, Michigan State holds a record of 9-2 overall. Meanwhile, Oakland's record stands at 3-6.

Looking ahead, Michigan State is set to face Florida Atlantic at home in the Breslin Center on Saturday, December 21. The game will be broadcast live on FS1 with commentary from Jeff Levering and LaPhonso Ellis.
