The Michigan State track and field team had a notable performance at the Michigan Invitational in Ann Arbor, highlighted by record-breaking achievements from athletes Elle Adrian and Jessica Stieb.
Elle Adrian secured victory in the women's weight throw with a distance of 22.35 meters, surpassing her personal best and setting a new school record previously held by All-American Beth Rohl at 22.17 meters since 2013. This achievement also ranks as the ninth-best throw in the NCAA this season. Val Pallett followed closely, finishing second with a throw of 20.04 meters.
Jessica Stieb set a new personal best in the women's shot put with an initial throw measuring 16.87 meters, placing her second in the event. This performance broke her own school record of 16.63 meters set in 2024 and is ranked No. 22 in the NCAA for this indoor season. Rylan Finstrom also achieved a personal record, finishing sixth with a throw of 14.56 meters.
In men's events, Connor Williamson claimed second place in the weight throw with his first attempt reaching 19.14 meters. Colby Morlock achieved third place with a personal-best throw of 18.92 meters, while Josh DeVries finished fifth at 18.61 meters.
Dillon Morlock won the men's shot put with a personal best of 18.87 meters, while Colby Morlock came second at 17.19 meters.
On the track, Logan Allen excelled by winning first place in the men's 60-meter hurdles clocking at 8.18 seconds. In another men's race, Cameron Cheetam finished fourth in the 60-meter finals with a time of 6.92 seconds.
For women's track events, Kaia Scheffler placed fourth in the women's 60-meter hurdles at 8.67 seconds, and Amani Nuels secured fifth place in the women's 60-meter finals clocking at 7.55 seconds.
In men's longer races, Terrance Muex achieved his season's best to finish third in the men's 400-meter race with a time of 48.24 seconds.
Michigan State continued its strong showing on track during the men's 600-meter event where Noah Sage took first place achieving a personal-best time of 1:18:86 minutes; teammate Ben Classen finished third marking his season's best time at1:22:90 minutes.
The Michigan Invitational included participation from Midwestern teams such as Akron, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan University (EMU), University Of Michigan (UM), and Toledo University among others.
