Michigan State University's men's basketball team is set to travel to Los Angeles for a Big Ten Conference matchup against Southern California on Saturday, February 1. The game will be broadcast live on Peacock, with commentary by Guy Haberman and Darren Collison. Fans can also listen to the Spartan Media Network radio call, available statewide and online at MSUSpartans.com, featuring play-by-play by Will Tieman and color analysis by Matt Steigenga. The game will also be accessible via SiriusXM channels 139 or 195 and the SiriusXM app.

The Spartans enter the contest with an impressive record of 18-2 overall and remain undefeated in conference play at 9-0. They are ranked seventh in both the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches polls. Michigan State has won its last 13 games, equaling their longest winning streak since the 2018-19 season.

This year, Michigan State has emphasized "Strength in Numbers," with ten players averaging at least ten minutes per game. Jaden Akins leads the team in scoring with an average of 13.6 points per game. The Spartans' depth is evident as they are one of only three teams in the AP Top 25 with at least seven players averaging over 7.8 points per game.

On the other side, Southern California holds a record of 12-8 overall and is currently 4-5 in Big Ten Conference play. The Trojans recently suffered an 82-76 defeat against UCLA but have shown resilience throughout the season under junior guard Desmond Claude's leadership, who averages 16.1 points per game.

Saturday's meeting marks the eighth encounter between Michigan State and Southern California, with MSU leading the series four games to three. This will be their first matchup since USC joined the Big Ten Conference.
