Michigan State University's hockey team is set to face Ohio State in a two-game series this Thursday and Friday at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio. The Spartans, ranked No. 2 nationally with a record of 20-3-3 overall and 11-2-3 in the Big Ten, will compete against the No. 11 ranked Buckeyes, who hold a record of 15-7-2 overall and 8-5-1 in conference play.

The Spartans have historically performed well against Ohio State, leading the all-time series with a record of 102 wins, 57 losses, and 13 ties. In Columbus alone, Michigan State has secured 44 victories out of their meetings. Notably, Michigan State has won their last four encounters with Ohio State.

Entering this weekend's games, Michigan State recently took five points from second-place Minnesota after securing a win and a shootout victory. With these results, they became the first team in the nation to reach 20 wins this season.

A standout performance is expected from Charlie Stramel's line alongside Isaac Howard and Daniel Russell. This trio has collectively scored 58 points over their past games together. Howard leads national statistics with his goals (20) and points (39). Stramel also made significant contributions against Minnesota by excelling in faceoffs.

Karsen Dorwart and Gavin O'Connell are among MSU's key players against Ohio State based on past performances. Meanwhile, MSU’s defense had an impressive showing recently with David Gucciardi being named Big Ten Second Star of the Week for his efforts.

In goalkeeping duties for MSU is Trey Augustine who leads the Big Ten in several categories including goals-against average and save percentage.

Both games will be broadcasted; Thursday’s game will air on Big Ten Network while Friday’s game can be streamed via BTN+.
