Michigan State track & field wins multiple titles at weekend meets

Michigan State University's track and field team achieved notable success over the weekend, securing 14 event titles across two competitions. The Spartans participated in the Simmons-Harvey Invitational in Ann Arbor and the GVSU Bob Eubanks Open in Allendale.

At the Simmons-Harvey Invitational, which was a scored meet, Michigan State's men's team finished second with 102.5 points, narrowly trailing behind Michigan's 105.5 points. The women's team also placed second with 109 points, while Michigan led with 126 points.

Logan Allen made a significant impact for the Spartans by winning both the 60m (6.79) and the 60m hurdles (7.93), contributing a total of 14 points to his team's score. Other notable performances included Noah Sage setting a new record in the men's 400m with a time of 46.86, while Shae Harbaugh claimed victory in the women's 600m at 1:32.43.

Kate Stewart-Barnett won the women's 800m with a personal record of 2:07.61, and Olivia Millen secured first place in the mile race with her best time of 4:43.96.

In field events at Simmons-Harvey Invitational, Elle Adrian set both meet and personal records in weight throw at 21.39m, while Sophia Mettes triumphed in women's pole vault with a jump of 4.00m.

The GVSU Bob Eubanks Open saw Melanie Macias finishing first in women's 600m (1:37.25) and Nathan Larson achieving victory on the men's side with an improved time of 8:24.23 for his event.

These performances reflect strong individual achievements from Michigan State athletes as they continue their indoor season campaign.
