Michigan State University's volleyball team has announced a new addition to its coaching staff. Head coach Kristen Kelsay revealed that Cursty Le Roux will join as an assistant coach. Le Roux brings a wealth of experience, having recently been the head coach for the 18 Adidas team at Austin Performance Volleyball.

Le Roux was part of the Texas coaching staff in 2023, where she played a significant role in their NCAA Championship victory and led the top-ranked recruiting class in the nation. "Cursty is the perfect addition to our staff," stated Kelsay. "She brings a wealth of volleyball experience at the highest level, most recently winning a national championship in 2023."

Before her tenure in Austin, Le Roux was involved with UNLV's volleyball program as a defensive coordinator, helping them win the 2021 National Invitational Volleyball Championship. She also contributed to Long Beach State's third-place finish in the Big West Conference in 2022.

Le Roux has served on boards for League One Volleyball (LOVB) and Athletes Unlimited, influencing professional leagues' development within the United States. Her international experience includes assisting with the US Senior National Team's gold medal win at the NORCECA Final Six and silver at the Pan American Cup.

Since 2020, she has been part of USA Volleyball's National Training Development program. Her playing career saw her represent Team USA for four years and compete internationally across several countries.

Originally known as Cursty Jackson, she began her college career at UNLV before transferring to Arizona, where she earned accolades such as Mountain West Freshman of the Year and First Team All-PAC 12 honors. Le Roux holds a bachelor's degree from Arizona and is married to Kevin Le Roux, a former Olympic middle blocker for France.

Kelsay expressed excitement about welcoming Cursty and her family to Michigan State: "Her teaching style, recruiting success and care for her student-athletes will make an immediate impact on Spartan volleyball."
