Michigan State Athletics has a busy week ahead, with various teams competing in significant events from January 14 to January 20.

The Michigan State hockey team, ranked No. 1, is set to face its rival Michigan in a home-and-home series. The first game will be on Friday in Ann Arbor, followed by a Saturday match at Munn Ice Arena. Fans are encouraged to participate in the "Go Green, Wear White" promotion for the televised game on BTN.

In women's basketball, the No. 22 Spartans will play two Big Ten games on the road. They travel to New Jersey to face Rutgers on Wednesday and then head to Champaign for a Sunday contest against Illinois.

The men's basketball team, ranked No. 12, begins their week with a home game against Penn State on Wednesday evening. This marks their first home game with fans present since December 7. On Sunday, they host Illinois at noon as part of their conference schedule.

Men's tennis will host No. 7 Kentucky on Friday at the MSU Indoor Tennis Center in what is noted as the first Top 25 matchup at home in program history. They also have matches against Vanderbilt and Western Michigan scheduled for Sunday.

For gymnastics, Michigan State will compete at Breslin Center for the first time ever when they host Michigan on Friday evening. The Spartans currently hold a national ranking of No. 6 based on their average team score through two meets.

Women's tennis heads to Washington this weekend for matches against Gonzaga and Washington State in Spokane, marking their season's first duals.

The track and field team returns to Ann Arbor for the Simmons-Harvey Invitational after participating in last weekend's Wolverine Invitational where Noah Sage won the men's 600 meters and Valadian Pallett took first place in the women's weight throw event.

Lastly, wrestling steps out of Big Ten competition to host Buffalo at Jenison Field House on Sunday afternoon during Jr. Spartans Day, which includes activities before and after the dual meet.
