Michigan State University's softball team has announced a new addition to its coaching staff. Jadelyn Allchin will join the team as an assistant coach, working alongside Danielle Stenger and Bethany Wells under head coach Sharonda McDonald-Kelley. Allchin will focus on offense, defense, and player development.
"We're very excited to add Jadelyn to our staff," said McDonald-Kelley. "Her experience playing with Athlete's Unlimited will be a great asset for our student-athletes, and her passion for softball was evident throughout this process."
Allchin recently completed her first professional season with Athlete's Unlimited in 2024. She collected 878 leaderboard points and tied for seventh in the league with 480 inning win points. Her performance earned her defensive MVP honors, highlighted by a season-high of 130 leaderboard points on June 13 against Team Warren. During her rookie season, she hit .292 over 11 games with six starts.
Before turning professional, Allchin played collegiate softball at Washington and UCLA. She appeared in 216 games with 178 starts and finished her college career with a .289 batting average. At UCLA, she was recognized as a Second Team All-PAC 12 performer, hitting a career-best .317 with 33 RBIs in 55 starts. A highlight of her college career was making SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays for a diving catch against Georgia in the NCAA Super Regionals.
Internationally, Allchin represented Team USA at the 2019 WBSC U19 Women's Softball World Cup, where she helped secure gold by hitting .421 with three home runs, nine RBIs, and nine runs scored. She also contributed to winning bronze at the 2019 USA Softball International Cup.
Hailing from Fountain Valley, California, Allchin was named a College Sports Communicators Third Team Academic All-American in 2024.
