Junior Hannah Hawley has been recognized in the D1Softball Preseason D100 Player rankings, securing the No. 100 spot. This announcement was made on Monday morning, marking a significant achievement for the Michigan State University (MSU) player.

Hawley had an impressive season in 2024, her first with the Spartans, where she led the team in several key statistics. She achieved a batting average of .349, an on-base percentage of .462, and an OPS of 1.133. Additionally, she topped the team in hits with 52, extra base hits with 24, and walks totaling 25. Her contributions were divided between playing behind the plate and at third base.

In recognition of her performance during her sophomore year, Hawley received numerous postseason accolades. She was named to the All-B1G Second Team and earned a spot on the NFCA All-Great Lakes Region First Team. Notably, she became the first Spartan to receive All-B1G honors since 2019. Her slugging percentage ranked fifth in the conference while her on-base percentage was seventh; these combined placed her sixth in OPS among qualified batters. Furthermore, Hawley's 12 home runs were tenth highest in the league.

Michigan State will begin its 2025 season at the Candrea Classic held in Tucson, Arizona from February 6-8. The team is set to compete against Arizona, Alabama, and Western Michigan. Both Arizona and Alabama concluded their 2024 seasons ranked within the Top 25.
