Michigan State University has announced the appointment of Dan O'Keefe as an assistant volleyball coach. The announcement was made by head coach Kristen Kelsay.

O'Keefe joins Michigan State after three seasons at Clemson University, where he served as an assistant coach, offensive coordinator, and recruiting coordinator. During his tenure at Clemson, the team made two postseason appearances in the National Invitational Volleyball Championships in 2022 and 2023. "I am fired up to add Dan O'Keefe to my staff," said Kelsay. "Dan is a proven recruiter and an excellent teacher of the game. He embodies the Spartan family mentality and will be essential in the success of our program."

Under O'Keefe's guidance, Clemson achieved its highest NCAA RPI ranking since 2008, reaching No. 45 in 2023. Notably, junior Camryn Hannah earned All-ACC Second Team honors in 2022, and Neea-Maria Joki was named to the ACC All-Freshman team last season.

Before his role at Clemson, O'Keefe spent four years with Wright State University. His contributions helped lead the Raiders to a 79-30 record during his time there. In 2019, Wright State secured its first-ever at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament after winning the Horizon League regular season title. They continued their success into 2020 by clinching both the regular season and tournament titles.

O'Keefe began his coaching career as a volunteer assistant at Dayton in 2017, where he worked with six Atlantic 10 All-Conference players.

He is also known for his involvement in Chicago's volleyball community since 2014. A native of Chicago, O'Keefe graduated from Saint Xavier University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
