Michigan State track team excels at Wolverine Invitational

Michigan State University's track and field team participated in the Wolverine Invitational held in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on Saturday. The Spartans showcased strong performances across various events.

In the women's 60m dash, Amani Nuels secured third place with a time of 7.57 seconds. Cameron Cheetam also claimed third place in the men's 60m dash with a personal-best time of 6.78 seconds. Logan Allen achieved another third-place finish for Michigan State in the men's 60m hurdles with a time of 8.06 seconds.

Noah Sage led the Spartan men by winning the 600m race, finishing in 1:18.99. Alex Yon followed with a fifth-place finish at 1:22.87. In the men's 400m event, Henry Shaieb placed second overall and first among collegiate runners, recording a personal-best time of 49.39 seconds.

Terrance Muex finished third in the men's 300m race with a time of 34.24 seconds, narrowly missing his personal best by one-hundredth of a second. Elizabeth Anderson came fourth in the women's 300m event with a time of 40.35 seconds.

Timothy Cherry was among three runners who broke the meet record in the men's 800m race, securing second place with a time of 1:50.57. Owen Gilbert and Levi Maier finished fourth and fifth respectively.

In field events, Valadian Pallett took first place for Michigan State in the women's weight throw with a best attempt measuring 19.44 meters, while Janan Khalil came second at 17.60 meters and Eriana Hubbard was fourth at 16.08 meters.

The Spartans' success continued in the men's weight throw where Xavier Griffiths ranked fourth (18.35 meters), Colby Morlock set a new personal best to take fifth (18.23 meters), and Joshus DeVries was sixth (17.65 meters).

Rylan Finstrom achieved fourth place for Michigan State women’s shot put with her personal best throw reaching 14.21 meters; Dalton DeBeau matched this placement on behalf of men’s shot put registering his top throw at14 .58meters .

After their performance at this invitational ,the Spartans will return to Ann Arbor next weekend for participation again within Simmons-Harvey Invitational scheduled Saturday January eighteenth .
