Michigan State University's football program has announced two new additions to its coaching staff. Head coach Jonathan Smith confirmed the appointments of James Adams and Jon Boyer, who will serve as safeties coach and quarterbacks coach, respectively.

Smith expressed enthusiasm about the new hires, stating, "We are excited to welcome James Adams and Jon Boyer to East Lansing." He highlighted Adams' extensive experience in coaching defensive backs and his previous roles as assistant and associate head coach. Smith also praised Boyer's familiarity with the team's offensive scheme due to their past collaboration at Oregon State.

The offensive staff will continue under the leadership of Brian Lindgren, who retains his role as offensive coordinator. Other key members include Keith Bhonapha, Courtney Hawkins, Jim Michalczik, and Brian Wozniak. On the defensive side, Joe Rossi leads with Blue Adams, Legi Suiaunoa, and Chad Wilt.

James Adams brings a wealth of experience from his time at Wake Forest and other institutions such as Purdue and Navy. His career began at Wake Forest in 2009 after playing as a linebacker there. He has been involved in various capacities across different teams, contributing significantly to their defensive successes.

Jon Boyer joins Michigan State following six years at Oregon State. During his tenure there, he worked closely with Smith and Lindgren. Boyer's background includes significant achievements while serving as an offensive coordinator at Northern Colorado before joining Oregon State.

Both coaches bring substantial expertise to Michigan State's football program as they aim to enhance their respective units.
