Michigan State University (MSU) has unveiled its baseball schedule for the 2025 season. The Spartans, led by head coach Jake Boss Jr., will participate in 24 non-conference games and 30 Big Ten Conference matchups.
The season kicks off on February 14 in Cary, North Carolina, against Western Michigan. Following this, MSU will face Monmouth in a doubleheader on February 15 and Dayton on February 16.
In the second weekend of play from February 21-23, MSU travels to Corpus Christi, Texas. They are set to compete against Washington State on February 21 and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on February 22. The weekend concludes with a non-conference game against UCLA on February 23.
The Spartans will spend an eight-game stretch at Fluor Field in Greenville, South Carolina, starting with Harvard from February 28 to March 2 during the First Pitch Invitational I. Additional games include Western Carolina on March 5 and participation in the First Pitch Invitational II against Cornell and UAB on March 7, Winthrop on March 8, and UAB again on March 9.
March marks MSU's home opener at Jeff Ishbia Field at McLane Stadium against Michigan in a non-conference clash scheduled for March 12.
Within the Big Ten Conference schedule, MSU will host five series and travel for five others. They will face ten out of seventeen Big Ten teams as Wisconsin does not have a varsity baseball program. Notable conference matches include away games at Iowa (March 14-16) and Penn State (March 21-23), followed by a home series against Illinois (March 28-30).
April sees the Spartans playing Indiana away (April 4-6) before hosting Northwestern (April11-13) and Ohio State (April18-20). They then travel to face Michigan again (April25-27). May features home games against Oregon (May2-4) and an away series at USC (May9-11), concluding with Minnesota from May15-17.
Non-conference fixtures include home games versus Oakland (March19), Bowling Green (April2), Central Michigan (April8), Western Michigan (April15), Purdue Fort Wayne(April22),and Eastern Michigan(May6). Road contests feature Notre Dame(March26)and Western Michigan(May7).
Additionally, MSU is set to play the Lansing Lugnuts in their annual Crosstown Showdown exhibition game with details forthcoming.
