Michigan State University's athletic teams are gearing up for a busy week from December 11 to December 17. Several teams, including women's basketball, hockey, men's basketball, gymnastics, and wrestling, have significant events lined up.

The women's basketball team, ranked No. 17/19, will begin their Big Ten play on Sunday against Iowa. The Spartans have started the season with a perfect 9-0 record and recently set a school record with 14 blocks in a game against DePaul.

In hockey, Michigan State is set to face off against No. 1 Minnesota this weekend. Both teams boast top national rankings in scoring offenses and defenses within the Big Ten conference.

The men's basketball team will meet Oakland on Tuesday at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. This game features long-tenured coaches Tom Izzo of Michigan State and Greg Kampe of Oakland. The Spartans have entered the Associated Press Top 25 for the first time this season at No. 21.

Michigan State's gymnastics program is preparing for its upcoming season with an intra-squad Green & White Meet on Saturday at Jenison Field House. Fans can attend for free and meet team members post-event.

Lastly, the wrestling team travels west for a non-conference dual against CSU Bakersfield on Sunday. Earlier this season, they achieved notable success at the Black Knight Invitational with nine podium finishes.
