Michigan State's Nalani Iosia receives AVCA All-Region honorable mention

Nalani Iosia, a senior libero for Michigan State's volleyball team, has been recognized as an All-North Region honorable mention by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). This marks her second consecutive season receiving this honor.

Iosia concludes her time at Michigan State ranking third in the program's history for career digs, with 1,466, and digs per set, with an average of 4.25. Her performance this past season included 4.57 digs per set and a total of 516 digs, both ranking as the sixth-best in a single season at MSU. On November 3, 2024, she achieved a program record with 34 digs in a four-set match against Ohio State. Throughout the season, no other Big Ten Conference (B1G) libero surpassed 30 digs in any match.

Leading the B1G in overall digs and digs per set, Iosia recorded an average of 4.64 digs per set and accumulated 339 digs in conference-only matches. She is recognized as one of the most distinguished liberos in Michigan State's history and is noted for being the first to earn first-team honors since 2021.

In addition to her collegiate achievements, on November 25, 2024, Iosia was drafted into the Pro Volleyball Federation by the Orlando Valkyries as the seventh pick of the fifth round (39th overall). She joins fellow Spartans Zoe Nunez and Amani McArthur as professional players under head coach Leah Johnson.
