Michigan State University's women's basketball team achieved a significant milestone with their best start in school history, as highlighted by Head Coach Robyn Fralick following their victory over DePaul. "Great team win tonight," said Fralick, emphasizing the positive atmosphere at Breslin and acknowledging the historic achievement discussed post-game.
Reflecting on the team's 9-0 record, Fralick remarked, "I think it is just a small part of the story, but it is where we want to be knowing there's a lot more challenges that continue to be ahead." She stressed the importance of adaptability across different game conditions and matchups.
Jaddan Simmons received praise for her performance against DePaul. Fralick noted, "She was great on both sides of the ball... It was really, really efficient."
The team's defensive prowess was evident with 14 blocks during the game. Fralick attributed this to both effort and strategic play: "I think it's a combination. I think we have some good length, and we have some good athleticism at the rim."
Fralick also reflected on her coaching journey from Division II to Michigan State: "What I've learned is that the things that really matter, connection with the kids, having good relationships... That's what's cool about it."
