Former Michigan State offensive tackle Jim Nicholson has been selected for induction into the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame Class of 2025. Nicholson played for the Spartans from 1970 to 1972 under Coach Duffy Daugherty and earned second-team All-Big Ten honors in his senior year. He participated in the Blue-Gray All-Star Game and the Hula Bowl before being drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the ninth round of the 1973 NFL Draft. Nicholson later joined the Kansas City Chiefs, where he played as a right tackle from 1974 to 1979.

Nicholson, originally from Honolulu, Hawai'i, had an impressive high school career at St. Louis High School before attending Michigan State University.

"On behalf of the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame, it is our great honor to recognize and celebrate the Class of 2025," said Jesse Sapolu, Chairman, Co-Founder, and Inductee. "These men embody the spirit of Polynesia and have left an enduring mark on the game of football. We look forward to celebrating their incredible achievements this January in Hawai'i!"

The induction ceremony will take place during the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Weekend from January 17 to 19, 2025. The event will include a Polynesian Bowl, an Enshrinement Ceremony, and a Celebration Dinner.

Nicholson joins fellow Spartans Bob Apisa, Domata Peko, and Charlie Wedemeyer as members of this esteemed group.

The Polynesian Football Hall of Fame was established in 2013 at its permanent location within the Polynesian Cultural Center. Founded by Super Bowl Champions Jesse Sapolu and Ma'a Tanuvasa, its board includes notable figures such as Troy Polamalu and Vai Sikahema. To date, it has inducted 47 individuals and provided over $300,000 in college scholarships.
