Michigan State women's basketball team is set to participate in the Acrisure Classic during their Thanksgiving break, with a game against the Cal Bears on November 26 in Palm Springs, California. The Spartans have had a strong start to the season under head coach Robyn Fralick, boasting a 6-0 record. They are led by junior forward Grace VanSlooten, who averages 16.6 points per game.

Cal also enters the matchup undefeated at 6-0, recently securing a win over Auburn. The Bears' offense is powered by Lulu Twidale, who averages 18.3 points per game. Head coach Charmin Smith leads Cal into her sixth season with an overall record of 62-80.

The Acrisure Classic features several strong programs that participated in the 2024 NCAA Tournament and takes place at the new Acrisure Arena.

In terms of player performances this season, Julia Ayrault and Grace VanSlooten are both approaching career milestones of 1,000 points. Freshman Juliann Woodard has been making notable contributions off the bench for Michigan State.

As they prepare for upcoming tournaments in California and Florida, the Spartans aim to maintain their momentum from a successful start to their season.
