Michigan State University's men's tennis player, Ozan Baris, has advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Individual Championships. The junior secured his place after a challenging match against Pedro Vives Marcos from Texas Christian University (TCU) in the Round of 16. The match concluded with Baris winning in three sets: 6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-2.

This marks the second consecutive year that Baris has reached the quarterfinals, showcasing his consistent performance and determination on the court.

In Thursday's Sweet Sixteen encounter, Baris faced a tough opponent in Vives Marcos. After losing a closely contested first set in a tiebreaker, Baris managed to level the match by taking the second set 6-4. He then carried his momentum into the third set, ultimately overpowering Vives Marcos with a decisive 6-2 win.

Baris is scheduled to play against Jay Friend from Arizona in the quarterfinals on Friday at 11 a.m. Eastern Time / 10 a.m. Central Time.
