Michigan State's men's basketball team is set to face North Carolina in the 2025 Fort Myers Tip-Off, as announced by event organizers. The game will occur on Thanksgiving Day and is part of the Beach Division of the tournament. The event will be held at Suncoast Credit Union Arena, located on the campus of Florida SouthWestern State College.
The Spartans and Tar Heels have a long-standing rivalry, having played each other 17 times. North Carolina currently leads the series with 13 wins to Michigan State's four. Their last encounter was during the 2023 NCAA Tournament.
The Fort Myers Tip-Off has been an annual event since its inception in 2018, attracting top college basketball programs from across the country. Previous participants include Gonzaga, Kansas, Auburn, Florida, Ohio State, Marquette, Wisconsin, and Virginia.
