The Michigan State women's basketball team secured a decisive 96-54 victory over Eastern Kentucky University at the Breslin Center on Thursday night. Despite a slow start, the Spartans found their rhythm, marking their fourth consecutive win of the season under head coach Robyn Fralick. This win continues their streak of starting 4-0 for six straight seasons.
Graduate guard Julia Ayrault led Michigan State with 19 points and eight rebounds. Junior forward Grace VanSlooten contributed 15 points and nine rebounds, while junior guard Theryn Hallock added 14 points and a season-high nine assists. Freshman guard Juliann Woodard impressed in the fourth quarter with 16 points.
Eastern Kentucky's Alice Recanati scored 17 points, but it wasn't enough to challenge the Spartans' dominance. The game saw MSU outscore EKU by a significant margin in the second half, pulling away with a strong third quarter performance.
Michigan State will now prepare to face Western Michigan on Sunday, Nov. 17.
