MSU narrows Old Brass Spittoon series lead after loss to Indiana

Michigan State University faced Indiana in their 71st meeting, with the loss narrowing MSU's all-time lead to 50-19-2. The game was part of the Old Brass Spittoon series, which Michigan State leads 50-16-1.

In the opening quarter, MSU scored with a 47-yard field goal by senior placekicker Jonathan Kim. This marked the first time Indiana trailed in a game this season. Freshman wide receiver Nick Marsh had an impressive performance with five catches for 78 yards and a touchdown, setting a new record for receiving yards by a true freshman at MSU.

Senior wide receiver Montorie Foster Jr. continued his streak of consecutive games with at least one reception, now at 22 games. Sophomore quarterback Aidan Chiles completed 16 of 24 passes for 193 yards and one touchdown.

On defense, freshman Jaylen Thompson led with six tackles and one pass break-up. Junior Nikai Martinez recorded five tackles, while redshirt junior Charles Brantley achieved two pass break-ups.

Jonathan Kim was successful on his field goal attempts, going 8-of-10 in recent games and leading the Big Ten with his season performance. He also made all extra point attempts during the game.
