Michigan State University's men's soccer team is set to host Rutgers on Senior Day, marking the conclusion of their regular season. The match will take place at DeMartin Stadium on Sunday, November 3, at 1 p.m. After the game, the Spartans will honor seniors Zack Babiak, Efosa Emovon, Levin Gerhardt, Sean Kerrigan, and Shion Soga.

The Spartans recently secured a second consecutive win with a 2-2 draw against top-ranked Ohio State on October 29 in Columbus. Michigan State currently holds an overall record of 5-6-4 and stands at 4-3-2 in Big Ten play.

Jacob Maurer and Mikayla Mazza are scheduled to provide commentary for Big Ten Plus during the match.

Rutgers comes into this matchup with an overall record of 5-9-2 and a conference record of 2-6-1. The Scarlet Knights achieved a significant victory by defeating No. 10 Maryland with a score of 3-1 earlier this week. This was their second win against a top-ten opponent this season.

The series history between Michigan State and Rutgers shows that MSU leads with seven wins to Rutgers' one victory. Their last encounter ended in a draw during the COVID-shortened season in 2021.

Senior midfielder Sean Kerrigan has been instrumental for Michigan State this season, contributing significantly in recent matches including scoring multiple goals against Wisconsin and Ohio State.

As the regular season concludes, Michigan State has already secured its spot in the upcoming Big Ten Tournament set to be held at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois. The tournament begins with quarterfinals on November 7 followed by semifinals on November 10.

Junior midfielder Jonathan Stout leads MSU's scoring efforts this season alongside contributions from several other players including Richie Ludwig and Mohamed Saad. Goalkeeper Zac Kelly has been strong defensively for MSU achieving six shutouts this season.

Michigan State's head coach Damon Rensing continues his leadership into his sixteenth year with support from assistant coaches T.J. Kolba and Nick Barry among others involved in guiding the team through another competitive season.
