Spartan men’s tennis prepares for Notre Dame mini duals

Michigan State University's men's tennis team is set to compete in the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Mini Duals this weekend, from November 1-3, in South Bend, Indiana. The Spartans are coming off their recent participation in the Louisville Classic.

Freshmen players Danial Rakhmatullayev and Mitchell Sheldon will represent Michigan State at the event. Rakhmatullayev recently earned the Big Ten Player of the Week Award and aims to continue his winning streak during his inaugural year with the team. Meanwhile, Sheldon is gearing up for several upcoming competitions including the Big Indoor Championships, ITA Conference Masters, and ITA Sectionals scheduled for next weekend.

The tournament will commence on Friday with one round of singles matches followed by two rounds of doubles. Saturday's schedule includes two rounds of singles and one doubles match. The event concludes on Sunday with a final round of both singles and doubles matches.

On Friday, Rakhmatullayev and Sheldon will face Steiglehner/Oral from Michigan in doubles. In subsequent singles matches, Sheldon will compete against Oral while Rakhmatullayev takes on Steiglehner.
