Michigan State University's women's golf team concluded its fall season with a tie for seventh place at the Landfall Tradition tournament. The event took place at the Country Club of Landfall's Pete Dye Course in Wilmington, North Carolina.
The Spartans finished with a 14-over par 302 in the final round, resulting in a three-day total of 10-over par 874. They shared their position with Clemson. Florida State led the competition with a score of 2-under par 862, narrowly beating Duke, which ended at 1-under par 863. North Carolina secured third place at 1-over par 865, followed by Ole Miss and UCF completing the top five.
Senior Brooke Biermann was Michigan State's leading player, tying for fifth place with a score of 2-under par 214 over three rounds (75-69-70). Junior Taylor Kehoe achieved a tie for 13th place at even-par 216 (74-67-75), while senior Katie Lu tied for 16th place with a score of 1-over par 217 (70-71-76).
Freshman Catalina Monroy and junior Paula Balanzategui placed further down the leaderboard, finishing in positions that reflected their higher scores. Sophomore Ana Sofia Murcia competed as an individual and tied for 33rd place with a score of 5-over par 221 (74-73-74).
Looking ahead to spring, Michigan State will participate in the Puerto Rico Classic from February 2 to February 4 at the Grand Reserve Club in Rio Grande.
