Michigan State University's women's golf team is set to conclude the first half of their 2024-25 season at The Landfall Tradition, taking place at the Country Club of Landfall's Pete Dye Course in Wilmington, North Carolina. The event will be played on a par-72, 6,178-yard course located along the Intracoastal Waterway.
The competition features 17 teams, including seven ranked among the top 50 in NCAA rankings. Play begins on Friday, October 25th at 8:30 a.m., with subsequent rounds on Saturday and Sunday. Michigan State will tee off from the 10th hole on Friday morning alongside Florida State and UCF.
The lineup for Michigan State includes Brooke Biermann, Katie Lu, Taylor Kehoe, Catalina Monroy, Paula Balanzategui, and individual competitor Ana Sofia Murcia. In addition to Michigan State (ranked No. 21), other participating teams include UNC-Wilmington (host), Alabama, Clemson (No. 35), Duke (No. 20), Florida State (No. 13), Furman, Illinois, Maryland, North Carolina (No. 12), NC State, Notre Dame, Ole Miss (No. 17), Penn State, South Florida, UCF (No. 40) and Virginia Tech.
Michigan State's recent performance saw them finish tied for second at the Tar Heel Invitational on October 13th after leading into the final round and completing it with a score of 19-over par 859 over three days. Senior Brooke Biermann was named Big Ten Golfer of the Week after finishing tied for eleventh place individually.
The Spartans have had strong performances this fall season with top-five finishes in three events so far and are currently ranked No. 21 nationally by NCAA rankings.
This year marks Michigan State's fifteenth consecutive appearance at The Landfall Tradition tournament and their seventeenth overall participation—the second-most appearances among all teams involved.
