Saturday marked Michigan State University's (MSU) 108th Homecoming game, continuing a tradition that began in 1915. The Spartans secured a victory against Iowa, improving their Homecoming record to 71-34-3 and marking their third win over Iowa since 2000.

The game was the 50th meeting between MSU and Iowa. With this win, MSU has now won four of the last six encounters, reducing Iowa's overall series lead to 25-23-2. The match also marked Iowa's first visit to East Lansing since 2017, where MSU holds a slight edge with a 12-10-1 record.

Michigan State scored 32 points, their second-highest total of the season after scoring 40 against Prairie View A&M. This is also the most points they have scored in a Big Ten game since their Homecoming victory over Wisconsin in 2022.

Graduate placekicker Jonathan Kim made history by setting a school record with six field goals out of seven attempts, including four from beyond 40 yards. Kim's achievement ties him for the most field goals in a Big Ten game this season and places him among those with the highest number of field goals in modern-day Big Ten history.

On offense, MSU amassed a season-high of 212 rushing yards on Saturday. Freshman wide receiver Nick Marsh recorded his second game with over 100 receiving yards this season. Senior wide receiver Montorie Foster Jr. also reached the milestone for the first time in his career.

Sophomore quarterback Aidan Chiles completed passes at a rate of over seventy percent for a total of 256 yards—his highest at home this season—and registered his sixth touchdown pass of the year.

Defensively, MSU limited Iowa to just 133 rushing yards and managed an interception by junior defensive back Nikai Martinez in the fourth quarter.

Senior linebacker Jordan Turner contributed significantly with six tackles and one tackle for loss, maintaining his position as team leader with seven-and-a-half tackles for loss this season.

Overall, Michigan State's performance resulted in accumulating their second-highest total yardage of offense this season at Spartan Stadium.
