Michigan State University secured a decisive 5-0 victory over Windsor in an exhibition hockey match at Munn Ice Arena. The game saw MSU scoring three goals in the third period, after being held back by Windsor's starting goalie Nathan Torchia, who made 30 saves in the first two periods.
MSU managed to score once in each of the initial periods and added three more goals against Windsor's backup goalie Max Donoso, who made nine saves in the final period. Trey Augustine began as MSU's goalie with four saves before Luca Di Pasquo took over, stopping nine shots and enduring a five-minute major penalty during the third period.
Matt Basgall contributed significantly with a goal and two assists for MSU, while Daniel Russell scored twice, including a shorthanded goal. Additional goals came from Tanner Kelly and Tiernan Shoudy, with Joey Larson assisting twice.
Following this win, the Spartans are set to travel for a two-game series against Canisius in Buffalo next weekend, with both games scheduled for 7 pm.
