Michigan State University's men's basketball team engaged with the media during an on-campus event in East Lansing. Head Coach Tom Izzo addressed the media, sharing his enthusiasm for the upcoming season and reflecting on past experiences.

"What a couple of years it's been, but I am excited to be back," Izzo stated. He emphasized the importance of maintaining team culture through various activities, including trips and shared experiences.

Izzo highlighted the team's composition: "I think we've got a good, experienced group." He mentioned players like Jaden Akins, Jaxon Kohler, Tre Holloman, Frankie Fidler, Szymon Zapala as part of the seasoned members. Additionally, he pointed out promising talents from younger classes such as Xavier Booker and Jeremy Fears Jr., among others.

Reflecting on his long tenure at Michigan State University, Izzo remarked on his 30-year journey: "It's been 30 years. This will be the 30th year. It's pretty exciting for me."

The Spartans had already commenced their exhibition matches with a victory over Northern Michigan at the Superior Dome Showdown. This marked a special occasion for Izzo as it was his first coaching experience at his alma mater.

Looking ahead, Michigan State is scheduled to play against Ferris State at Breslin Center on October 29. The regular season begins with Monmouth visiting Breslin Center on November 4. The Big Ten Conference games start with an away match against Minnesota on December 4 and a home game against another conference team three days later.
