Spartan men secure victory at Bowling Green Invitational cross country meet

In East Lansing, Michigan, the Michigan State Spartans participated in the Bowling Green Cross Country Invitational at the Mel Brodt Cross Country Course in Bowling Green, Ohio. This event marked the first of two meets scheduled for the weekend.

During the Steve Price women's 6k race, Michigan State secured a sixth-place finish with 146 points. The team fielded a predominantly young group. Freshman Hannah DeRoeck was the top performer for MSU, running unattached and finishing 14th with a time of 22:01.01. Mia Rogan improved her previous performance from the Spartan Invitational by clocking in at 22:27.6 to finish 23rd.

Allison Chimielweski achieved a personal best with her time of 22:33.3.

The Michigan State men's team excelled in the Bob Rothermel men's 8k race, securing first place with a total of 45 points. Evan Loughridge emerged as the leading Spartan finisher, coming in third place with a time of 24:58.2 while running unattached. Jasper Cane also performed well, finishing fifth with a time of 25:03.2.

Noah Morrow was the top scorer for the team among attached runners, placing eighth overall and fifth among his peers with a time of 25:15.5.

Joseph Bowman and Brendan Favazza delivered strong performances for Michigan State, finishing in tenth and twelfth places respectively with times of 25:37.5 and 25:39.2. Nathan Larson completed his run in fourteenth place at 25:44.2.

The remaining members of the Spartans will compete next at the Wisconsin Pre-Nationals in Madison on Saturday, October 19.
