The Michigan State University (MSU) hockey team concluded its 2020-21 season with an overall record of 7-18-2 and a Big Ten conference record of 5-16-1, placing them seventh in the league. The team was led by Head Coach Danton Cole.

Throughout the season, MSU faced several ranked opponents. They secured a notable overtime win against Ohio State on November 28, with a score of 3-2. Another significant victory came against Penn State on January 4, where they won decisively with a score of 5-1.

Despite these successes, the team struggled against higher-ranked teams such as Minnesota and Wisconsin. On February 19 and 20, MSU lost to Minnesota with scores of 2-4 and 1-5 respectively. In their final regular-season games against Wisconsin on March 5 and March 6, they were defeated with scores of 0-4 and 1-2.

The team's journey ended in the Big Ten Tournament Quarterfinals against Minnesota on March 14, where they lost in overtime with a score of 1-2.

Coach Danton Cole led the roster that included players like Drew DeRidder, Brody Stevens, Dennis Cesana, Tommy Miller, Mitchell Lewandowski, and others who contributed throughout the challenging season.
