Big Ten announces kickoff times for MSU's opening football games

The Big Ten Conference has released the kickoff times for the first three games of Michigan State University's 2024 football season. The announcement was made on Thursday afternoon.

Michigan State will open its season against Florida Atlantic on Friday, August 30, at 7 p.m. The game will take place at Spartan Stadium and will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network. This marks the tenth time in fourteen years that Michigan State begins its season with a Friday night game in East Lansing and the twelfth time since 2011.

In their second week, the Spartans will face Maryland in their first conference game of the season. This match is scheduled for Saturday, September 7, at 3:30 p.m. It will be held at SECU Stadium and aired on the Big Ten Network.

The third game brings Michigan State back home to play Prairie View A&M on Saturday, September 14, at 3:30 p.m., also to be televised by the Big Ten Network. This meeting marks the first-ever encounter between these two teams.

FOX Sports has also announced that Michigan State will participate in two games as part of FOX College Football's inaugural Friday schedule: one against Oregon on October 4 at 9 p.m. ET and another versus Purdue on November 22 at 8 p.m.

The full schedule includes other notable games such as matches against Boston College, Ohio State, Iowa (for Homecoming), Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Rutgers, with specific times yet to be announced for some games.
