The 1992-93 Michigan State hockey team had a notable season under the guidance of Head Coach Ron Mason. The team ended with an overall record of 24 wins, 14 losses, and 2 ties. In the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA), they secured fourth place with a record of 18-10-2.

The roster included prominent players such as Bryan Smolinski, Wes McCauley, and Anson Carter. Assistant coaches Dave McAuliffe, Tom Newton, and Carl Repp played significant roles in supporting the team's efforts throughout the season.

Michigan State's performance was marked by several memorable games. They opened their season with a victory against Western Ontario on October 23rd, winning 7-2. However, challenges followed with losses to Miami on October 30th and October 31st. A series of victories later in November boosted their standings.

The team faced fierce competition from other universities including Notre Dame and Michigan during December matches. Their participation in tournaments like the Nissan Jeep Classic in Anchorage and the Great Lakes Invitational at Joe Louis Arena highlighted their competitive spirit.

As the CCHA Tournament approached in March, Michigan State displayed resilience by securing back-to-back wins against Kent State but fell short against Ferris State.

Overall, this season reflected both successes and challenges for the Michigan State hockey team as they navigated through a competitive schedule while showcasing talent across various games.
