Michigan State University faced a challenging game against Boston College, ultimately losing 23-19 in a closely contested match at Alumni Stadium. The game was part of the 11th-annual Red Bandanna Game and took place under rainy conditions.

The Spartans held a lead late in the fourth quarter after Jonathan Kim's fourth field goal, a 27-yarder, put them ahead 19-16 with just over four minutes remaining. However, Boston College quickly responded with a decisive 42-yard touchdown pass from Thomas Castellanos to Lewis Bond.

In the final moments, Michigan State had an opportunity to reclaim the lead but was thwarted when Aidan Chiles' pass was intercepted by Max Tucker in the end zone. Chiles completed 17 of his 35 passes for 241 yards but also threw three interceptions. He contributed on the ground as well, rushing for a career-high of 57 yards and scoring one touchdown.

Kay'ron Lynch-Adams led Michigan State's rushing efforts with 61 yards on 15 carries. Tight end Jack Velling recorded six receptions for 77 yards, marking season highs in both categories. Despite outgaining Boston College with a total of 368 yards compared to BC's 292, Michigan State struggled with turnovers throughout the game.

On defense, Malik Spencer and Khris Bogle each made six tackles for Michigan State. The team managed to stop several potential scoring drives by Boston College but couldn't maintain their advantage in the closing minutes.

The Spartans will return to Big Ten play next week when they host Ohio State at Spartan Stadium.
