Michigan State ties for fourth in inaugural Women’s Folds of Honor Collegiate

Michigan State University's women's golf team concluded the inaugural Women's Folds of Honor Collegiate tournament tied for fourth place. The event took place at American Dunes in Grand Haven, Michigan, with 15 teams competing.

The Spartans completed the three-day, 54-hole tournament with a score of 19-over par 883, following consistent rounds of 1-over par 289 on the final two days. Arizona emerged as the top team with a score of 4-over par 868. Florida State and Ohio State secured second and third places respectively, while Michigan State shared fourth place with Texas and Baylor.

Senior Brooke Biermann led the Spartans, tying for 11th place individually with a total score of 4-over par 220. Her performance included an even-par round on the final day. Fellow senior Katie Lu finished tied for 21st at 6-over par 222, after shooting a solid third-round score of 1-over par 73.

Junior Taylor Kehoe matched her teammates' efforts by tying for 25th place at 7-over par 223, also finishing with an even-par round on Wednesday. Sophomore Ana Sofia Murcia ended tied for 34th at 12-over par 228, alongside sophomore Paula Balanzategui who achieved her best round on the last day to finish at even-par.

Looking ahead, Michigan State will host the Mary Fossum Invitational at Forest Akers West on September 22-23.
