Michigan State University's men's soccer team has announced its 2024 schedule, as shared by head coach Damon Rensing. This year, the Spartans will compete against new Big Ten members UCLA and Washington, expanding their league contests to ten matches.

The Spartans' schedule includes four teams that participated in last season's NCAA Tournament: Indiana, UCLA, Oregon State, and SIUE. Notably, SIUE is led by former Michigan State assistant coach Cale Wassermann.

"We are really looking forward to the 2024 schedule," said Rensing. "This schedule has a little bit of everything and with the addition of Washington and UCLA to the Big Ten Conference, one of the best soccer conferences in the country just got better. The schedule has multiple conference champions, multiple NCAA tournament participants and a College Cup participant."

The team will host nine regular-season games at DeMartin Stadium. Last season, Michigan State ranked seventh nationally in attendance.

Preparations begin with exhibitions against Butler on August 12 and UIC on August 16. The regular season kicks off on August 22 against SIUE. Home games against Bowling Green and Villanova will follow later that month.

Rensing commented on the upcoming matches: "We are looking forward to opening our season at OVC Champion SIUE and taking on former MSU assistant coach Cale Wasserman. He has done a great job there," he said. "A couple regional rivalries, a Big East school, US Air Force Academy, and a college Cup participant in Oregon State makes for a very challenging non-conference schedule."

In September, home games include Oregon State on September 2 and Air Force on September 6. Road matches will see them face Oakland University before hosting Washington's first Big Ten game on September 13. Later travels include Penn State and UCLA.

October features home games against Northwestern and Wisconsin before visiting Maryland and Indiana. The annual Battle for the Big Bear trophy against Michigan takes place at home on October 22 before ending the month at Ohio State.

The regular season concludes with Rutgers visiting East Lansing on November 3. Further details regarding times and tickets will be available at msuspartans.com.
