The Michigan State University (MSU) hockey team concluded its 2023-24 season with significant achievements, finishing as NCAA Tournament Regional Finalists and claiming the Big Ten Regular Season and Tournament Championships. Under the leadership of Head Coach Adam Nightingale, the team posted an overall record of 25-10-3 and a Big Ten record of 16-6-2.

Coach Nightingale's roster included notable players such as Daniel Russell, Reed Lebster, Jeremy Davidson, and Karsen Dorwart among others. The team's support staff featured Student Manager Isaac Cheli, Equipment Manager Tom Magee, Athletic Trainer Patrick Sarni, and several directors including Brad Fast for player development and Mike Porter for player personnel.

The Spartans had a challenging schedule throughout the season. They faced teams like Lake Superior State early on with victories but encountered losses against Boston College in October. Their performance improved notably in November when they secured wins against ranked teams such as Ohio State and Wisconsin.

Their journey continued into December with victories over Notre Dame and a notable participation in the Great Lakes Invitational at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. January saw mixed results with wins against Penn State but a loss to Michigan before bouncing back to defeat them later that month.

February featured another round of intense matches including games against Minnesota and Ohio State. March brought pivotal victories during the Big Ten Tournament held in East Lansing before concluding their NCAA tournament run in Maryland Heights, Missouri.

The MSU hockey team's resilience was evident through their season's ups and downs which ultimately led them to stand out as regional finalists while securing both regular-season and tournament championships within their conference.
