The Michigan State University hockey team, led by Head Coach Danton Cole, concluded their 2018-19 season with an overall record of 12 wins, 19 losses, and 5 ties. In the Big Ten Conference, the Spartans secured eight wins against twelve losses and four ties, placing them seventh in the standings.

The team's season began on a strong note with a victory against the University of Windsor in an exhibition match on October 7. The Spartans continued to show promise with wins over Northern Michigan and two consecutive victories at Cornell later that month. However, challenges arose as they faced losses against Ferris State and Arizona State in early November.

Coach Danton Cole's squad experienced mixed results throughout the season. They achieved notable victories against teams like Minnesota and Penn State but also encountered tough defeats at the hands of Notre Dame and Ohio State. The season wrapped up with a pair of losses to Notre Dame in the Big Ten Tournament Quarterfinals.

The roster featured key players such as Drew DeRidder, Cody Milan, Tommy Apap, Sam Saliba, Brennen Sanford, Zach Osburn, Taro Hirose, John Lethemon among others. They were supported by Assistant Coaches Chris Luongo and Joe Exter along with Director of Hockey Operations Brad Fast.

Despite not achieving top placement in their conference or advancing far into postseason play, the Spartans demonstrated resilience throughout a challenging schedule.
