Michigan State's hockey team finishes fifth in Big Ten for the 2013-14 season

The Michigan State University hockey team concluded their 2013-14 season with an overall record of 11 wins, 18 losses, and 7 ties. Under the leadership of Head Coach Tom Anastos, the Spartans finished fifth in the Big Ten Conference standings with a conference record of 5 wins, 9 losses, and 6 ties.

Throughout the season, the team experienced various outcomes against different opponents. The Spartans achieved notable victories over Boston University and Princeton but faced defeats against teams such as Massachusetts and Michigan Tech. One highlight was their performance at the Great Lakes Invitational where they secured a win against Michigan.

In addition to regular season games, Michigan State participated in exhibitions and tournaments. They ended their run in the Big Ten Tournament with an overtime loss to Ohio State.

The roster included key players such as Will Yanakeff, Lee Reimer, Dean Chelios, Greg Wolfe, Jake Chelios, Nick Gatt, Brent Darnell, and Jake Hildebrand. The coaching staff comprised Assistant Coaches Tom Newton and Kelly Miller alongside Head Coach Anastos.
