The 2015-16 Michigan State Hockey Team, led by Head Coach Tom Anastos, concluded their season with an overall record of 10 wins, 23 losses, and 4 ties. In the Big Ten Conference, they finished fifth with a record of 6-12-2-1.

The team roster included notable players such as Jake Hildebrand, Ryan Keller, Justin Hoomaian, Travis Walsh, Mike Ferrantino, John Draeger, Matt DeBlouw, and Nate Phillips. The coaching staff featured Assistant Coaches Kelly Miller and Tom Newton along with Volunteer Coach Jason Muzzatti.

Throughout the season, Michigan State faced a variety of opponents. Their campaign began with a win against Western Ontario in an exhibition match and continued with mixed results against teams like Maine and Lake Superior State. They experienced several challenging games against higher-ranked teams such as Denver and Boston College.

In the latter part of the season, Michigan State secured victories over New Hampshire and Wisconsin but struggled against top competitors like Michigan and Penn State. Their participation in tournaments such as the IceBreaker at Cross Insurance Arena in Portland and the Great Lakes Invitational at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit highlighted their schedule.

The team's performance was marked by both competitive matches that went into overtime and some decisive losses. Despite their efforts throughout the season, Michigan State's journey ended after a loss to Ohio State in the Big Ten Tournament held at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
